Abstract: The Batch Problem Queue pattern describes a client/server
architectural pattern that allows PCs connected to a LAN to process
computationally complex problems in unattended batch mode and, in
combination, achieve the performance of a mainframe class machine.  In
addition to providing superb performance, processes designed using the
pattern will be fault tolerant and will make cost effective use of PCs
that are normally idle at night.  The pattern can sucessfully be
applied to system with any number of PCs and has been used with
anywhere from 3 to 200 client machines.
