TITLE: Naming and Identification in Distributed Systems:
       A pattern for Naming Policies

ABSTRACT: 
This paper addresses the problem of naming and identification in
distributed systems. It describes an architecture centered on objects,
names and contexts which support different naming policies.  The
pattern solution is driven taking into account the information embedded
in names and the function, structure and meaning of names.
